Keith Crawford
begins his fifth season as Monmouth College’s head swimming coach in
the fall of 2008. Crawford took over a dormant program in 2003 and
has quickly transformed the Fighting Scots into a Midwest Conference
contender. Named Midwest Conference "Men's Coach of the Year" in
2007 and 2008, his men finished second at both the 2007 and 2008 MWC
Championships. The Scots women placed fourth in 2007 and fifth in
2008. Crawford’s teams have produced 10 individual and relay
conference champions. Monmouth’s teams excel out of the pool, too.
The men’s
and women’s teams have been honored by the College Swim Coaches
Association for excellence in academics.
Crawford was a four-year student athlete and graduated with degrees
in history and secondary education from Xavier University in 2001.
He earned his master’s degree in Recreation and Sport Management at
Indiana State University in 2003. In addition to his duties as
swimming coach, Crawford serves as director of the Huff Athletic
Center and teaches swimming and lifeguarding courses.
