How to Develop Better Concentration
While Studying
Concentration improvement is a three
step process
 | Learn the causes of poor
concentration and decide which ones apply to you.
|
 | Understand what you can do to
control these factors.
|
 | Make your control habitual. |
External Causes
 | Environmental distractions such
as TV, other people, and snacks
|
 | Noise such as music with words
or conversations |
Ways to Control External Distractions
 | Leave or rearrange a
distracting environment
|
 | Train yourself to study away
from others and in silence |
Internal Causes
 | Physical Distractions such
as hunger or being tired
|
 | Boredom or disinterest in
the subject
|
 | Anxiety about studying
|
 | Intimidating study tasks
|
 | Daydreaming
|
 | Personal concerns |
Ways to Control Internal Distractions
 | Plan to study when you are
most alert.
|
 | Find a reason which
satisfies you for taking the class
|
 | Make sure you know how to
study effectively.
|
 | Break large tasks into
achievable subtasks.
|
 | Separate daydreaming from
studying.
|
 | Identify and define the
problem and develop a concrete plan to resolve your worries. |
