bulletUnderstand what you can do to control these factors.

bulletMake your control habitual.

External Causes

bulletEnvironmental distractions such as TV, other people, and snacks

bulletNoise such as music with words or conversations

Ways to Control External Distractions

bulletLeave or rearrange a distracting environment

bulletTrain yourself to study away from others and in silence

Internal Causes

bulletPhysical Distractions such as hunger or being tired

bulletBoredom or disinterest in the subject

bulletAnxiety about studying

bulletIntimidating study tasks

bulletDaydreaming

bulletPersonal concerns

Ways to Control Internal Distractions

bulletPlan to study when you are most alert.

bulletFind a reason which satisfies you for taking the class

bulletMake sure you know how to study effectively.
