Page updated 5/14
To keep people updated, here's a list of the projects (other than regular site updates) that I'm working on. I'll keep this page up to date for those who are interested.
If you have any questions or ideas, or find another site that you really like, drop me an email.
"Giving" Slide Show [in progress] - An online (possibly interactive) slideshow inspired by the one on the Bethany College website.
Alumni Newsletter [May version completed] - A newsletter containing a table of contents with short summaries will be sent out via email to alums. From the cover page linked above, the viewer can click on links to the stories which will be on the Monmouth website.
Admissions Newsletter [April version] - This is the same idea as the Alumni newsletter. Stories will be aimed at prospective students and will contain links so that they can find more information. It will also serve as a reminder for deadlines and campus visits.
Google Maps [in progress] - A map will pull up information about students from around the country to show the diversity that Monmouth College has. It' s in an early phase and will eventually be integrated into the main site.
Admissions Facebook Application [early stage] - Will help to keep the newly admitted interested in Facebook by showing them other students who have been admitted or shown interest in Monmouth and also added the application. [Entirely Voluntary]
Admissions MySpace [in progress] - a way to stir up interest in Monmouth College. I mostly gutted the MySpace page so that we can put all of our own content up. I'm hoping to also put some short Monmouth video clips on there.
Emergency Webpage [ready] - a backup site that will kick in during power failure for emergencies. This project will include a function for easily adding emergency information and updates. It will also include backup versions of the admissions page for times of power failure. An example of the page is available.
CMS
[just starting] - An acronym for Content Management System. This will be the
basis for our new site. If you come across any college websites you like, pass
them on to
me.
May use a Datatel extension instead.
